I cannot begin to express what a rewarding experience it has been for me to complete the Girlfriends Half Marathon. A few years ago I’d be crazy enough to even consider running 13+ miles.  I am enjoying my new life as an athlete and really appreciate all you have done to encourage, inspire, and coach me, as well as being there to celebrate with me as I 
finish these tremendous feats!

 

What an amazing team we had – we all did it!  The whole team!  We started this training journey together and not one of us got injured, not one of us gave up. Each of you

June 26th, 2010 – A Running Nirvana 

The training is all about team support designed specifically for runners and those getting started into running long distance to train together, laugh together and support each other in all running goals, including managing health and fitness along the way. 

So join us and start your journey getting into incredible shape, setting new PR's and accomplishing your personal goals with this very fun, friendly and supportive training team learning all there is to know about running for the distance and injury free!

Begins: March 6th, 2010

Training Time Frame:
16 weeks - March 6th - June 26th  

Meets:
Tuesdays 6:30p - 7:30p Track & Short Trail Workouts / Saturdays 8a - 9:30a+ as miles lengthen (some training times & dates are subject to change with advance notice)

Run Locations: 
Various Parks, Running and Hiking Trails on Eastside 
(Issaquah, Bellevue, Redmond, Sammamish, Renton) -  there may be a few outside of these areas

Distance:
 
1/2 Marathon Distance for The Seattle Rock 'n Roll Half distance(primary), 10k training for other events in spring and summer.

Open To: 
Beginners and beginning competitive runners - This is a Heart Zones Based Run Program - You Train at Your Level.

A base level of running / jogging up to 3 miles per week comfortably is required.  Our first week's training will consist of 3 miles distance and begin to build from there. 

Paces: Will vary in the group.  Typical range is from 10 min/mile pace to 15 min/mile pace.  All workouts can be adjusted to suit your own individual ability and goals. 


Limited Team Training Number: A minimum of 5 to start team and up to 20 total - sign up early to reserve your space!

Training Fee: $189 for 16 weeks / $159 for Returning T.E.A.M. Members & Team Survivors / $129 for On-line Coaching and Email Support only

On-Line Coaching with Email Support: a perfect option for anyone who likes to train at their own available time, travels and/or lives too far away to join in on the weekly coached training sessions, yet would like a training plan to help stay motivated.  Every week you'll get new training instructions and motivation right in your inbox and on the on-line training site. Keep the communication going with your coach to hold you accountable and by the end of the 16 weeks, you will be more than ready to complete the half marathon distance and to cross the finish line! 

Get Fit with a Friend or Family Member Challenge: Invite a friend, family member or co-worker to join you in the half marathon training program and receive 10% off the regular training fee.  Help motivate each other through your training and cross the finish line together!
